The President of the Republic, Head of State, HE Mohamed Bazoum, received on Wednesday February 9, 2022, the Luxembourg Minister for Cooperation and Humanitarian Action, Mr. Franz Fayot.
“We discussed the excellent relations between Luxembourg and Niger which date back more than thirty years and also took stock of our joint achievements under the latest Indicative Cooperation Plan (ICP) between 2016 and 2021”, said Mr. Franz Fayot.
These achievements mainly concern “key sectors” for Niger: water, sanitation, education, vocational training and agriculture, he said, adding that we can show “very good successes , which explains why PIC 4, which entered into force this year, is a record PIC for Luxembourg. »
“We have allocated an envelope of 145 million euros to this programme, which is the largest envelope in Luxembourg. Niger is the most important country for Luxembourg cooperation and we will continue in the sectors in which we have worked so far. In water and sanitation, we are a European leader but also in education, the empowerment of young people and especially young girls,” explained the Luxembourg minister.
“We are very aligned with what the Republic of Niger is doing. It is a cooperation that is good and that will, in the coming years, go even deeper,” he said.
